Principal Greg Giglio’s secretary, Executive Assistant, Christine Glenny will not be returning to Homestead next year, as she is set to work in the district office alongside former principal Graham Clark.

Glenny, originally a criminal analyst for the Strathclyde Police in Scotland, began her career at Homestead 14 years ago and has worked with three principals during her time on campus.

Before becoming the the principal’s assistant, Glenny was Homestead’s AP Secretary in the guidance office.

As the executive assistant to the associate superintendent of admin services, Glenny’s new job will be to report to Associate Superintendent, Clark. She will be responsible for a major functional area within FUHSD, such as providing the public with informa-tion, managing board support, dealing with business and community partnerships, and handling legal, personnel and instructional support functions.

“I’m excited to have the opportunity but really sad that I won’t be working with all the great staff and students at HHS,” Glenny said. “I’ve really enjoyed my time here, I can’t believe I’ve been here for 14 years. The time has flown by.”

Originally, Goulet and Glenny both applied to work alongside former principal Graham Clark in the district office, but when Glenny was given the job, Goulet was offered to interview for Glenny’s newly vacant position.

“I’m looking forward to working with admin and expanding my role and being involved with more of Homestead,” Goulet said.

Her new position entails working closely with the administration team, which includes the principals and deans.

“A big part of the job is being a liaison between the students, parents, principal and the community,” Goulet said.

Since Goulet will become executive assistant to Giglio, her current position of AP Secretary will need to be filled for the 2015-2016 school year.

“There is a lot I’m looking forward to,” Goulet said. “This is where my heart is. I love the Homestead campus.”
